The Castillo.
Since moving to St. Augustine, Paul and I constantly remind each other of how lucky we are to live in such a historic town. We know that a lot of people try to avoid going downtown, but it still hasn't lost its novelty to us. When driving home, we sometimes go out of our way to drive through downtown past Flagler College, the Lightner Museum, old city streets, and most notably, the Castillo de San Marcos. Its construction began in 1672, making it 341 years old this year!
These photos were taken in April (ouch!) when our friend D.V. came to visit for a weekend. We can't wait to have him stay again!
I'd really like to work on making this blog a reflection of our daily travels. While we don't go on a lot of trips, we do like to explore the local landscape together. It's been a constant since we first began dating. What do you think?
